Pen Rider
- Full time
- Skilled horsemanship exercising safety by awareness of surroundings
- Feed yard or ranch experience preferred
- Furnish and care of own gentle horses and tack
- Ability to communicate, high level of work ethic, and works well with others
- Knowledge and understanding about cattle behaviors
- Rides pens daily
- Reports pen maintenance issues to yard employees
- Clean cattle water tanks
- Clean horse barn / stalls
- Move cattle daily using low stress techniques
- Identify sick cattle by observing signs of distress
- Segregates sick cattle by driving them to hospital
- Returns treated cattle to home pen from hospital
- Assists in shipment of fat cattle by opening gates, driving cattle to shipping areas for weighing, and counting cattle
- Housekeeping areas
- Observe all safety rules and policies
Mechanic / Shop
- Full time
- Able to operaate heavy equipment - dump trucks, tracters, loaders
- Experience in welding and torching
- Order parts
- Inventory parts
- Service equipment and keep records
- Repair and maintain facilities
- Housekeeping areas
- Observe all safety rules and policies
Yard Crew
- Full time
- Able to operate heavy equipment - dump trucks, tracters, loaders
- Experience in welding and torching
- Electrical awareness
- Fixing water tanks
- Physical labor
- Housekeeping areas
- Observe all safety rules and policies
Feeding Crew
- Full time
- Operate heavy equipment
- Basic computer experience is helpful
- Feed daily
- Reports pen maintenance issues to yard employees
- Prepare grain for the cattle
- Housekeeping areas
- Observe all safety rules and policies
Processing & Hospital Crew
- Full time
- Assists in shipment of fat cattle by opening gates, driving cattle to weighing area, and counting cattle
- Process new cattle
- Doctor sick cattle
- Knowledge of running a chute
- Computer knowledge
- Housekeeping areas
- Observe all safety rules and policies
